Children

Children are a valued part of the church family.

Church of Maumelle Children’s Ministries are designed to help children feel loved. Children are a valued part of the church family. Through intergenerational friendships, our Children’s ministry gives children a supportive community of faith to celebrate their spiritual growth, their accomplishments and their personalities.

Children’s Sunday School is offered for grades K- 5th grade. The Children’s Ministry teachers chose the “Orange” curriculum because it makes scripture come to life for children. The lessons guide children to grow closer to Jesus Christ. Both the curriculum and the educators serve to strengthen kids in their faith. All of our Children’s Sunday School Teachers have a background in education. Kind, and nurturing, they have years of experience nurturing children and teaching the Word of God.

Promoting Christian Community

Intergenerational Christian Community is promoted by including children in worship. Children who attend worship with adults are more likely to attend worship when they become adults. To make the worship experience more meaningful for children, Church of Maumelle provides activity bags themed to match the message, and a “Children’s Sermon” in which the pastor or another adult shares scripture and a kid-friendly message that ends in prayer.

Children Volunteer in Worship by “acolyting”, or lighting the worship candles at the start of worship. Children may greet, usher or serve communion with adults.

Children’s fellowship matters!

On a monthly basis children are treated to a fun fellowship outing, along with the youth, in Central Arkansas with their parents and the church’s youth. Children have enjoyed bowling, skating, and other special activities.
